K-Art in Munich

Issue 12 – City Editions

In Issue 12, we visit Munich, an impenetrable fortress for some, and land of incredible opportunity for those who last the distance. The featured artists inform us that art and therapy are often the same thing; that healing requires the bravery to feel the burn, make a mess, and come back stronger. They get their hands dirty, employing an array of materials to cut, bend, weave, dismantle, collage, and more. They allow ink to wander, drive kinetic tech, and rotate canvases for the sake of perspective. The results are gloriously human, fascinatingly weird, and cosmic in scale. Inspired by digital nightmares, astrophysics, nature, and musical fugues, they explode the traditional boundaries of the gallery space so the art can finally breathe. Above all, they invite you to step through revolving doors, to let the outside in, and to leave your own traces in a Bavarian legacy that is still being written.
