Mi-Jin Chun’s work explores the fluid relationship between space, memory, and identity, shaped by her background in architecture and her global journey across South Korea, Germany, and Italy. Drawing inspiration from both modernist architects and abstract painters, she treats color and form as living elements, each layered, shifting, and emotionally charged. Her paintings condense the physical and emotional impressions of three-dimensional spaces into two-dimensional canvases, all the while revealing the subtle tensions between presence and absence, stability and transformation.
