Chaerin Park’s works express feelings of inadequacy and the challenges of miscommunication experiences while living overseas in Vienna, Austria. Indicative of internal conflicts and a sense of (non)belonging, her subjects shed their worldly forms in search of new meaning. As “Tree People,” they return to a state of nature, nourish the roots of self-perception, and find the strength to continue their journey through the jungles of migrant life.
